Blues break it open in 6th, hang on for win over Barons

Game two of the doubleheader between the Blues and the MLB Academy wound up being a pitchers’ duel for most of the night, but Ruben Mercado broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 6th. The former Cuesta Cougar’s 2-run single up the middle gave the Blues a 3-1 lead, and San Luis Obispo held on for the 5-4 win, completing the Saturday sweep over the Barons. 

Blues strike early, walk it off in 10th

The Blues’ bullpen faltered late, giving up three runs in the top of the 9th, but future Cal Poly Mustang Taison Corio sent the fans home happy as San Luis Obispo walked it off in the 10th, securing the 4-3 win in front of a sellout crowd at Sinsheimer Park on Wednesday night.

Blues give up late lead, fall to Conejo

The Blues had a 5-4 lead in the 8th inning, but with one swing of the bat, the Conejo Oaks jumped out in front with a 2-run homer to left, and they held on for the 6-5 win over San Luis Obispo on Sunday at Sinsheimer Park. 

Blues hang on for 2-1 win over Conejo

The Blues escaped a bases loaded jam in the 9th inning on Sunday as San Luis Obispo turned the 6-4-3 double play, securing a 2-1 win over the Conejo Oaks at Sinsheimer Park.

Blues blow by Arroyo Seco to capture 2nd straight win

Mission Prep’s Dylan Beavers crushed his first home run of the year, a towering solo shot to right field in the bottom of the 2nd, as San Luis Obispo won its 2nd straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Arroyo Seco Saints, 7-3.
